52nd Annual CSVHFS Conference

2018 csvhfs wichita

  Welcome to Wichita

On behalf of CSVHFS we welcome you to Wichita, KS for the annual Central States VHF Society Conference, to be held on July 26-28 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at the Wichita (Eisenhower) Airport. This year is our Society's 52nd Conference, an ARRL-sanctioned operating specialty convention.

This year's event will start with a Meet and Greet Thursday night and end with family entertainer Curtis the Mentalist at the grand-finale banquet. Friday and Saturday feature state-of-the-art technical programs, noise figure measurements, antenna range, Rover Row, Dish Bowl, VHF 101 education seminar for newcomers to weak signal operations, equipment auctions, luncheons, family tours, door prizes, hospitality suites, guest speakers, and a VHF/UHF/Microwave swap fest.

Expect the unexpected! Big-city amenities - Midwestern prices! Explore art museums, hands-on exhibits, Old West and Indian artifacts - even a T. Rex skeleton.   Dine at more than 1,000 restaurants. Shopping choices abound with eclectic shops, antique stores, and open-air shopping centers. When it comes to dining, shopping and playingWichita has something for everyone!

Known as a friendly, fun place to visit even without the attraction of a great Central States conference, Wichita presents an excellent opportunity to kick back and enjoy a respite from "normal" life!

The annual conference is well known for its technical programs and social interaction. You can take part by making a presentation, submitting a paper for the proceedings, or creating a poster display bringing antennas, preamps, and/or passive devices to test, driving your rover in for display, or just spending time in the after hours in one of the hospitality suites.

We are again promoting a newcomers’ program, VHF101, which will teach the basics of weak signal VHF/UHF operations.

Take advantage of the $99 room rate, which we locked in for the conference.  A block of rooms has been reserved for July 26, 2018 - July 29, 2018. The special room rate will be available until July 6th or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.  Booking a reservation from our site is simple.
